A trick to get a little extra free heat is to make a box over the pool pump. I put one in styrofoam over mine, and you raise the temperature in the pool by around 1 degree (after 4-5 days) if the pump runs 8 hours a day. In the box it was about 40-45c degrees, when it was 15c degrees outside, and part of the heat energy from the engine is thus transferred to the water.

The cover greatly affects the energy consumption. Not by insulating, but by preventing evaporation. Open lid -> higher consumption. Make a cover for the rollup and save yourself some cash.

Do NOT dive from the balcony from that height,look at many public pools it is forbidden with only 1.07 meters of water.

I would only consider zipscreen for the big window above the entrance. However, I would install the heat pump first, then a ceiling fan for the big entrance, and see how that works first. Maybe interior blinds will be good enough, and you can add them later.

As a future project it would be nice to integrate the pool heater to the heating/warming of the house somehow. I think heating up the pool 1 degree uses around 50 kWh or so. The idea would be to use the pool as a heat tank (battery) in winter and heat it up during low electricity cost time and use that heat to heat up the house when needed, and in summer for cooling the house the other way around. The algorithm for handling this would have to include both electricity costs and weather forecast, I believe...

you can start your morning by jumping in to the pool from balcony :) 10 degrees would wake you up fast. And you need to start teaching kids to swim.

I have no heat pump in my pool. The water is 19 degrees. Its okay to swim in at day datime, when “The Sun” os on! I hope for more sunny waather, so the kids an I can enoy our pool. No money for heat pump this year. (DK)

Is there supposed to be somekind of a cover where the cover rolls in? Kids/dogs could still accidentally fall in there? That side looks unfinished with the brackets and the horizontal bar exposed. But the pool looks great this time of year especially. 👌

Plumber here, just so you know Bjorn none of those pipes are insulated. Pool guys rarely insulate their pipes it's standard procedure I guess because the pool is where you lose almost all the heat. The only pipes maybe worth insulating are those connecting the heat pump with the shed, for those you can buy some pipe insulation and do it yourself later.
